Hello every one, well still trying to get the progress pics of the Keaton woody. I,m getting ready to stain and varnish. If you look close at the deck you will see how I did this. I think it came out looking good and I know it will look better on the deck of my 58' hatteras. Soon as I find davits. hope I can get this pic thing worked out. Well let me be one of the first to wish everyone a very Happy and prosperous New Year. I hope all of your 2008 wishes come true.

It is a new and exciting year for Kathy and me. Kathy has decided to close her business and return to the working community. She has been hired as Senior Art Designer for a company who makes scissor lifts, and cranes, and also sells heavy equipment parts. Apparently the owner is also in the construction industry with a company called American Homes, and owns a winery in Mariposa. Sounds like my kind of guy. The company offered her above her asking price, so that is good.

I have settled back into life at home, and also have started a new job. I am still in the military, but instead of returning to my old Company which the Army closed down, I am not the Public Affairs Chief and full time Readiness NCO for a Combat Aviation Brigade. It is what I love doing, so I am really fortunate. UNFORTUNATELY, Kathy and I did have to turn down a 2 year tour in Germany and a permanent position in San Luis Obispo, so we will still be in Fresno, but again, the job is what I love and I am working for a good friend so it all is worth it.

I hope all of you have the same fortune we are having.

Where are your Party Pictures. Lots of pics were taken, but this the first time it has taken so long to post. I did see the ones from the Raider game.

I saw the 55 gallon barrel of race fuel in your truck when you left. Nice!

finally got the 496 home

well i made the trip over to the coast yesterday , and got my motor back from the machine shop . ill try to post some pics but im not very good at that sort of thing .
anyway its nice to see the 496 sitting in the garage finally after all the work and all the money , to have something in the garage i can point at when i tell the wife where all the money went to is nice .
now its time to start working on the engine compartment of the boat and finnish up all the little things so i can see what that thing looks like in the boat i cant wait to show it off to all you guys . im tired of not being able to keep up lol by the way if pumpkin reads this i would like to see some pics of the engine compartment and the pump braces and such and also the motor mounts if you wouldent mind i just remember how good it looked and i need some insperation to get going on mine .
I hope to see all you guys soon, if nothing else ill be chasing you all arround next summer

These pictures were taken during the 2007 flooding on the Illinois river, notice all the crap in the water. I'll bet I cleaned the pump out a million times, that weekend.

Hey just wanted to introduce myself I'm Steve Amerson and live in Pooler GA and love anything with speed. I've always seen pictures of jet boats but never seen one up close until I found my next project. I saw an old jet boat behind a guys house and ask if it was for sale. He said he could'nt give it away, so I asked if he had the motor also. In his garage was a complete BBC 454 with Crosby headers. He said he would take 500.00 for everything. So I pulled my mad money I had hid in my wallet and all the money I had in my pocket and it was exactly 500 bucks and some change. So the boat got named loose change, because that is exactly what I will have when I'm done with it. The boat is a Mike Shannon hull with a Panther pump & BBC454. Thanks

Mike Shannon Boat?

I have a 18' Mike Shannon jet boat but does'nt have any name on it as far as the model. The coastguard tag read MFG. Mike Shannon MODEL 18'jet. Has anyone heard of him? Boat is well made and came with a Panther jet & BBC 454. Seen it sitting behind a guys house and ask if it was for sale and he said he could'nt give it away. I ask if he also had the motor and sitting in the corner of his garage was the complete 454 with Crosby headers. He said with the motor he would take 500.00. Pretty cool winter project. Thanks
